DMOZ or Directory Mozilla is also known as The Open Directory Project or ODP. It is a multi-linguistic site linked with many other sites and is maintained by the community of different volunteers who take care of the content part of the site. It was founded by the then engineers from Sun Microsystems. Its original name was Gnuhoo which was finally named as Open Directory Project after many changes and was owned by Netscape. Later on, AOL acquired Netscape and ODP became one of its assets.
