Document Object Model or DOM is a language interface which permits programming and scripting and regular updating of the content and style of the document. Many other changes can be made in the document and it can be presented in a different manner there after. It is not mandatory for the web browser to use DOM to cater an HTML Document.
The DOM favors in any direction may be the primary or the secondary. It also allows the changes which are to be done for any small modification. The development of the DOM began in mid-90s, and this happened with the help of W3C or World Wide Web Consortium. Different specifications with different levels of DOM were introduced between a short span of time.
A common web browser was created to support the usage of DOM in different ways. It’s just like a tree, keeping all the leaves together but in the contrary every leaf has its own identity. It can easily incorporate any kind of DOM whether it is of any level or any specification doesn’t matter.
The different levels of DOM can be easily explained as under: The level 0 have been imported from level 1. Level 0 is the mixture of Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. The main part is of the level 1 which focuses on the actual scenario of the HTML and XML documents. The heart of DOM is Level 1 in many ways. It creates basic functions like deletion or edition in the documents. Core DOM and the HTML DOM are different from each other in many ways. These models are important for the script writers.
Level 2
It incorporates the style of the document. It allows the document to be changed. There are many changes in the style of the document according to the level of DOM.
