Google Keywords
Google keywords are there for you to determine what words you want your sponsored link to be displayed under. For example when a Google user comes on a search engine and types in a particular word or phrase in the search bar, he is provided results on the basis of relevance to the term used. It depends but wide and large that is the way it works in most engines. When it comes to Google, the process is no different. But if you look closely in the Google results page you will notice on the top left and the extreme right of the page there are other links as well. They are displayed under the banner of sponsored links. Now basically they are clients of Google who pay Google per click on their links.
These clients have to buy a certain number of keywords from Google. If a user types in “guitars in Boston” the natural listings will display all they can in accordance to different algorithms. Like on the basis of popularity and most well know web site etc. But if you are in the sponsored links you will have to buy the keywords “guitars in Boston” in order to be displayed on the search result. There are many who attempt to come up with popular search terms, however it is not possible to display them all at the same time. While we are on the subject of being displayed on Google, it is important to note that it is always the customer’s interest to be displayed on the first page of Google. That is where the prime interest is found. So what Google does in the case of a lot of people wanting to be on the first page of any search result is, it has positions assigned to whoever is willing to pay the most for that particular position. So in many ways Google gives it’s sponsored listing positions away to the highest bidder.
There are different Google keyword tools that are available which will help you to pick out different keywords from a selection of many that will be suitable for you. The Google keyword tool will help you establish how many key words you need to have in order to get maximum exposure for your web site. But a word of caution, it is in Google’s best interest to give you as many keywords as possible. The reason for that is because you will be paying Google on the basis of every click. So a keyword is basically a gate way to your link. Technically this means the more keywords you have the more chances you have of your sponsored link to be displayed and clicked. Now that will probably seam like a great deal, but what tends to happen is that the web site owners get too many key words and then end up not being able to manage the costs involved on staying on the first page. So make sure you have planned your budget out properly.
